| Dr Bashir has worked in General Adult Psychiatry, Liaison Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, Neuropsychiatry and Drug Addiction. He also has experience as a consultant in Intensive Care Unit, psychiatric in patient, community psychiatry and perinatal psychiatry.
Dr Bashir is currently a consultant psychiatrist in Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and American Psychiatric Association as well as European Psychiatric Association and World Psychiatric Association. His postgraduate psychiatric training took place in University College London Hospital. He also had the opportunity to be trained in Guy's/St Thomas Hospital gaining a postgraduate diploma in Addictive Behaviour in St Georges University London. Dr Bashir's field of psychiatric expertise are as follows: Resistant Depression, PTSD, OCD, Body Dysmophic Disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Insomnia, ADHD, Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Hypochondriasis, Eating Disorders, Alcohol related problems and Drugs related problems. Dr Bashir has produced reports for employment tribunals, Psychiatric Assessments and reports for family law courts especially to assess the effect of mental health problems on parenting abilities. He has done many medico legal reports since 1998, including criminal, civil cases on request of courts, probation officers, home office and solicitors during his job as a senior psychiatrist.
