| I have been working in the fitness industry for 14 years and qualified as a Modern Pilates instructor in 2003. Since then I have built a close relationship with my clients and participants, many of whom I have worked with since the beginning. My approach is a highly personal one and I believe that through particular care and attention to individual needs, both in classes and private sessions, I am able to encourage my participants to achieve their aims whilst enjoying friendly, inclusive and sociable classes.
Modern Pilates is based on the original works of German-born Joseph Pilates who designed a series of exercises that uses both mental and physical techniques to condition the body. His methods were used primarily by dancers, however, in recent years these methods have been introduced into the health and fitness industry. Modern Pilates is a gentle, relaxing form of exercise that focuses on strengthening and stabilising your joints and muscles. It offers the following benefits: strengthens core muscles increases joint stability and mobility improves your posture relieves stress and tension helps with recovery and rehabilitation after injury or operations. Classes are suitable for beginners or those who have had a break from Pilates upon completion of a beginners’ course or assessment by me. Please contact me if you are new to Pilates to discuss the options. My classes at the Groves are on Mondays at 10 and 11am and 6.30 and 7.30pm. Classes are run as courses payable in advance. I also offer one-to-one sessions. I also specialize in ante and postnatal fitness and one-to-one conditioning.
